REVIEWS

It’s My Pond is a beautiful book about the importance of sharing and friendship. Children will love the bright and colourful ‘hook-a-duck’ ducks and it is sure to appeal to any young reader. {Emma Dunn of the Scottish Book Trust}

A perfect story for sharing with the youngest children, It's My Pond would also work really well to initiate discussions with older primary pupils. {North Somerset Teacher’s Book Award}

Such a deceptively simple story yet so rich

I read this to two different Y1 groups this week and they were enraptured.

Playful with an important message

This book turned up earlier today and I love it! It is even better than I imagined from seeing a snippet on the website. Bright, bold and clear, the illustrations and words are perfect for little ones. The story is about ducks who have to share their pond. The more ducks that turn up, the smaller their portion of the pond becomes. Eventually, they can't swim but have to stay static in their section of the pond. When a black duck comes along, he questions this and the ducks learn that they can have much more fun and greater freedom if they share the pond between them! At the end, there is a humorous moment as a hippo turns up (the ducks quickly fleeing!) and has to share the pond with his friend... the ducks can look on wisely as they have learned from this mistake already!
A wonderfully playful and effective book for children to consider the merits of sharing as opposed to being possessive. Totally worth it!
